This Fortune 500 Services and Distribution Company is is one of the world’s largest business-to-business suppliers of essential office and computer products and services. 5.12 Solutions' challenge was to deliver its Hi-Tech Treasure Hunt to 100 vice presidents, managers and supervisors in 28 divisions from across the country and help them work as a team during a time of significant workplace change.
The group was organized into twelve teams and then set-free on the expansive Westin La Canterra property in San Antonio, Texas. They used navigating tools to find hidden caches and worked together to brainstorm and discuss issues on how to effectively lead and manage workplace change, break down office barriers, and understand the importance of accountability on the job. The team debrief capped off the event as the group shared insights, reached consensus and moved toward resolutions.
This innovative approach to team building moved the group out of the
conference room and into the outdoors where they were free to break
through typical group dynamics and forge their own way. Combining physical
and mental problem-solving exercises helped underscore the important
roles of teamwork and communication in reaching a unified goal. Without
exception, when adults get the opportunity to bridge the gap between
work and play, their learning is more personal, passionate and memorable.
