Sal is simply terrific. I wanted to build groups of cross-functional excellence in lower-levels of the org. I wanted greatness in cross-functional alignment and decision making not just at “the top” of the division, but throughout. Again Sal did a superb job of helping to make that happen. IMO, Sal’s success comes from 3 strengths. First, he has a great starting framework “The Deeply Human Workplace”. This provides structure and guidance through the process of team building. Second, Sal is collaborative in designing the program. In my case, myself, my leads, and Sal came up with plans together, based on Sal’s framework. He was able to harness the creativity of others and synthesize the team’s ideas. Finally, Sal has terrific EQ (emotional intelligence), which is incredibly useful as he lead the team building exercises. We had to get honest and personal with each other, so there is a potential for things to get heated. But Sal’s collaborative, calm, and high-EQ approach allowed each team member to be extremely candid with each other, in a productive way.
