Do you want to make your meetings more effective? Here’s a simple tool to help you out.
I call it the “half-time adjustment.” Conduct the following process about 1/3 or 1/2 of the way into your meeting:
- Stop the group.
- Facilitate a quick discussion on things that are going well so far in the meeting (pluses).
- Facilitate a quick discussion on what to stop or do differently to make the meeting more effective (deltas).
- Document your findings on a white board or flip chart.
The process will only take about a minute to complete and will give you valuable information to make a significant difference in how the remainder of the meeting is conducted.
