Thanksgiving in Kuwait. Gratitude.

I wanted to wish you all a very healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving for me is a time of reflection and a time to come back to the present. It is a time for me to be grateful for all of the wonderful things in my life.

This past year has been many things to many people. For some it has been very difficult. But, at the end of the day, the most important thing in our lives are the people in our lives. I hope you are surrounded friends, family, and other loved ones.

I also want to give a quick shout-out to the incredible men and women in our armed forces who are serving overseas and can’t be with their families on Thanksgiving day. I know this is difficult and I also know that you are surrounded by people who have a bond that most civilians will never understand. I was. In 1994 I was deployed to Kuwait in response to an Iraqi force build-up on the Kuwaiti border. One of my most memorable Thanksgiving days was playing a pickup football game in the desert.

Thank you all for your service and for the sacrifice you have made for this country.

I wish everyone health, happiness, and success.

Sal
