This is such a powerful question that keeps coming up for me, and one that I ask clients as I consult with them on team and leadership development engagements.
Would you work for you?
If you turned the table and considered what it would be like to work for you…
- Would you be committed or compliant?
- Would you feel like your contributions mattered?Or would you feel marginalized?
- Would you understand your expectations? Or would you be seeking clarity?
- Would you be receiving the appropriate amount of feedback? Or seeking more?
- Would you be engaged everyday? Or just making it through the day?
- Would it be a healthy, enjoyable experience? Or stressful and resentful?
