This is such a powerful question that keeps coming up for me, and one that I ask clients as I consult with them on team and leadership development engagements.

Would you work for you?

If you turned the table and considered what it would be like to work for you…

  1. Would you be committed or compliant?
  2. Would you feel like your contributions mattered?Or would you feel marginalized?
  3. Would you understand your expectations? Or would you be seeking clarity?
  4. Would you be receiving the appropriate amount of feedback? Or seeking more?
  5. Would you be engaged everyday? Or just making it through the day?
  6. Would it be a healthy, enjoyable experience? Or stressful and resentful?
