Getting Clear on Your Vision for the Team

Getting clear about your vision for the team isn’t rocket science, and most leaders make it more complicated than it needs to be. It is simply being able to communicate the purpose of the team, where you would like the team to be, and how you would like the team to get there.

Here’s a simple example one of my client’s uses as a project team leader. “We will deliver this project on time and on budget while being responsive to our client and having fun in the process.”

A one or two sentence vision statement that you can use in different variations in team meetings and during individual discussions will help energize people, communicate the bigger picture, and keep team members focused on the right things.
